Description

Experience the dessert heat with this unique hand painted silk matzah cover. The cover features three pockets, one for each of the three matzah's used on the Passover night, as is in Jewish Tradition. On the face of the cover is an illustration of an Egyptian desert with multiple pyramids. The pyramids are significant in the Passover holiday reminding the Jew's of the back breaking work that they were forced to endure. At the center of the desert, the cover has on it 'Happy Holiday of Liberation' written in Hebrew.

The Passover holiday is the celebration of God liberating the Jew's from oppression in Egypt. Per tradition since liberation, Jew's have a long and multi-faceted meal telling over the story of how they came to be in Egypt, how they were oppressed, and all the great things after they were liberated from Egypt through Gods divine intervention. Therefore the Passover holiday is called in Hebrew the 'Holiday of Liberation'. The matzah is the unleavened flat bread that was said to have been baked on the backs of the Jew's as they were fleeing from Egypt.
